Thomas Strong


 Thomas Strong grew up on a large farm in Outback NSW with a keen interest in the performing arts. He completed his Bachelor of Performing Arts at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and a Masters of Music (Opera) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.  Thomas has performed with many opera and theatre companies including The West Australian Opera, The Melbourne Opera, The Victorian Opera and The Pacific Opera in both the Chorus and Leading Roles. Thomas began his career singing as a Baritone and transitioned to a Tenor. His roles include: Cascada in The Merry Widow, Enjolras in Les Misérables, SkyMasterson in Guys and Dolls, Le Chat in  L'enfant et les Sortilèges, Doctor Falke in  Die Fledermaus, Marquis d'Obigny in La Traviata , Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro, Rodolfo from La Bohème, The Witch in the opera Hänsel und Gretel and Canio in Pagliacci. 

Thomas has performed in many concerts, functions and corporate events in a vast array of repertoire around Australia. He performed as an Opera Octet in the Channel Seven’s Carols in the Domain 2014 and 2015. He was also a member of The Australian Tenors and is now a directing partner of a new group The TenOrZ Downunder

Thomas has been the recipient of numerous awards for singing, the most prestigious of which was winner of Australia's largest opera award, The Opera Foundation Australia Lady Fairfax Scholarship where he won $43,000 to travel to New York in 2015 and 2016 to work with coaches and teachers and The Metropolitan Opera and to sing in Concerts in Manhattan.
